What’s considered a dental emergency?

A dental emergency is any sudden or unexpected oral health issue that needs immediate attention to relieve pain, prevent complications or protect your teeth.  

Our emergency dental services include:

• Knocked-out or lost tooth – Whether you’ve accidentally knocked out a tooth playing sport or lost it due to decay, swift dental care is crucial. If you can, bring along the tooth (placed back in its socket, your cheek or some milk) and contact us as soon as possible for the best chance of saving your tooth.
• Lost crown or filling – If you’ve lost your crown or filling, you’re probably in a reasonable amount of pain and experiencing extra sensitivity to hot and cold foods. Give us a call ASAP to arrange an urgent replacement crown or filling.
• Toothache, abscess or infection – If you’re experiencing continued pain and swelling, an emergency dental appointment is essential. We can get to the bottom of the cause of your pain, and if there is an abscess or infection, treat the issue before it becomes a more serious issue.
• Chipped, cracked or broken tooth – A chipped or broken tooth often exposes nerves, which is not a pleasant experience. Apply a cold ice pack against your cheek and call us so we can restore your smile as quickly as possible.
